Svetlana S. Pelemis, was born in 1974. in Tuzla, Bosnia and Herzegovina. She obtained her PhD in Physics in 2010. from University of Novi Sad. She is Associate professor at Faculty of Technology, University of East Sarajevo, Bosnia and Herzegovina.

Her research field is theoretical investigations of altered optical properties of ultra thin nanostructures – Method of Greens functions for determination of exciton spectra and possible states and for calculations of dynamical permittivity and indices of absorption and refraction for typical molecular ultra thin films, Theoretical physics of condensed matter, Optoelectronic properties of crystalline and thin film samples, Solar energy, Solar power plants, Energy efficiency, Renewable sources of energy, Biomaterials.

She has more than 50 publication in international and national journals and conference. She finished Winter College of Optics (ICTP-Trieste, Italy 2012, 2014, 2018.)

Currently, Svetlana is a project leader for the project funded Ministry for Scientific-Technological Development, Higher Education and Information Society, Republic of Srpska, Bosnia and Herzegovina, grant 19.032/961-99/19.
