Dr. Uroš Gašić

Dr. Uroš Gašić is currently employed as Senior Scientific Associate at the Department of Plant Physiology, Institute for Biological Research “Siniša Stanković”, National Institute of Republic of Serbia, University of Belgrade, Serbia. He obtained his PhD degree at the University of Belgrade – Faculty of Chemistry, Belgrade, Serbia. His research interests are mainly focused on food chemistry, chromatographic methods, mass spectrometry and plant secondary metabolites.

Dr. Gašić has published over 60 research articles in international journals and according to SCOPUS database; he is cited 705 times, (h-index 14, without self-citations). She participated in five projects as a researcher. He is verified as reviewer in more than 50 scientific papers with impact factors. In 2019 he was rewarded by the Medal for the scientific zeal and success of the Serbian Chemical Society as an expression of recognition for the results of research in the field of food chemistry with an emphasis on the analysis of secondary plant metabolites.

Since 2011 he has been a member of the Serbian Chemical Society and since 2019 a member of the Serbian Plant Physiology Society. He was a member of the organizing committees of (I) 51st Meeting of the Serbian Chemical Society and 2nd Conference of Young Chemist of Serbia; Niš, June 5 – 7, 2014, Rectorate of the University of Niš, Serbia; (II) Higher Mass Spectrometry Course, “Identification of Components Using High Result Screening Using Different Software”, Faculty of Chemistry, University of Belgrade, December 10-11, 2014, Belgrade, Serbia; (III) Conference “UNIFood” (on the occasion of the 210th anniversary of the University of Belgrade; based on the Shanghai ranking, the University of Belgrade was at 35th position in the field of “Food science and Technology”) Belgrade, Serbia, October 5-6, 2018.
