Prof. Michael G. Pravica
I am a professor of physics at the University of Nevada Las Vegas. My research as an experimental condensed matter physicist entails the study of matter subjected to extreme conditions (pressure, temperature and/or radiation flux). I have been developing useful hard x-ray photochemistry as a means to drive novel chemistry by harnessing highly ionizing, highly focused, and highly penetrating properties of hard x-rays (>7keV). I earned my B.Sc. degrees in Physics and Applied Mathematics from Caltech and my A.M. and Ph.D. degrees from Harvard University.
