MSc Maria Savanović

MSc Maria Savanović (maiden Uzelac) was born on August 30, 1992. in Vrbas. Since 2016, she is a PhD student in chemistry at the Faculty of Sciences, University of Novi Sad. During 2017–2018. she was a PhD scholarship holder at the Ministry of Education, Science and Technological Development of the Republic of Serbia.

Since 2018, she is employed as a Research Assistant at the Faculty of Sciences, University of Novi Sad. She was a member of the Organizing Committee at 55th Meeting of the Serbian Chemical Society held in Novi Sad in 2018. She was a participant of the symposium CONNECT 2.0 held in Tuzla and Neum in 2018. 

She specialized in the following courses: seminar of reviewing for researchers; seminar on the use of the Kobson service; research methodology, scientific writing and result presentation – technical, natural and life sciences; and entrepreneurial skills. She is a member of the Serbian Chemical Society – Chemical Society of Vojvodina and the Serbian Young Chemists’ Club. She is a researcher in the field of analytical chemistry and environmental protection. She is closely focused on studying the stability of pharmaceutically active compounds as well as the removal of the present pharmaceuticals in the environment, using hydrolysis, photolysis, and photocatalysis using different types of catalysts. She is co-author of several national and international conference papers. She is also a co-author of several papers published in journals with impact factor.
